Irene Devastates Bahamas’ Acklins Island

Almost 90 percent of the entire Lovely Bay settlement on the Bahamian island of Acklins. The island was beaten by 90 to 100 mile-an-hour winds, with homes completely washed away, roofs lost and power lines downed. [Nassau Tribune]
