How many people visited St Lucia in 2014?
According to the latest numbers from the St Lucia Tourist Board, the Eastern Caribbean island reported just under 340,000 stayover visitors in 2014.
That represented a 6 percent increase in total arrivals compared to 2013, the tourist board said.
The United States remained the island’s leading source market, accounting for 42 percent of all arrivals, seeing an 11 percent increase in traffic compared to 2013.
The island’s next largest market, the United Kingdom, saw a 4 percent increase in 2014, while Canadian arrivals grew by 15 percent.
“Partnership is key to keeping the momentum strong for Saint Lucia’s marketing efforts,” said Louis Lewis, Director of Tourism for the Saint Lucia Tourist Board. “We work closely with our hotel and product partners, travel agent partners, tour operators, and airlines, to harness ideas and resources for the success of the overall destination.”
