We don’t mind admitting that we’re just a little bit obsessed with mangoes: The firm-yet-yielding sunshine yellow flesh; the distinctively sweet aroma; the flavor that says “Caribbean” with every mouthful … Which is why we can’t wait to try the Mango Maniac, the most popular cocktail at the Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands resort and villa community Oil Nut Bay. Because let’s face it: The only thing better than eating a mango is “drinking” one, spiked, of course, with rum.

Oil Nut Bay’s Mango Maniac

Ingredients

1 shot             Cruzan Gold rum

1 shot             mango juice

1 shot             orange juice

1 shot             crème de cacao

a splash of Grenadine

grated nutmeg

Method

Blend all ingredients with ice until frothy. Pour into a tall glass and garnish with a light dusting of grated nutmeg. Garnish with a citrus wedge and a cherry.
