Dominican Republic Lightly Shaken By 4.5-Magnitude Earthquake

The Dominican Republic was shaken Saturday morning by a 4.5-magnitude earthquake, according to data from the United States Geological survey.

The epicentre of the quake was about 3 kilometres south-southeast of Licey al Medio, and about 118 kilometres north-northwest of Santo Domingo.

The quake struck at a depth of 26 kilometres at around 11:27 AM local time in the Dominican Republic.

The reports of the strongest shaking came around the area of Santiago, with shaking felt as far south as the capital.

There were not yet any reports of damage or injuries resulting from the earthquake.
