Jamaican rising music star Tessanne Chin performed at the White House in Washington, DC on Thursday evening.

Chin, who won the NBC show “The Voice” last year, was part of a group of noted singers performing a programme called “Women of Soul: In Performance at the White House.”

Her performance included a rendition of a song by Donna Summer.

The event was the latest in a series of concerts and musical performances hosted at the White House by President Barack Obama.

Chin, a reggae fusion singer, was joined by performers Melissa Etheridge, Aretha Franklin, Ariana Grande, Patti LaBelle, Janelle Monae and Jill Scott.

Thursday’s performance was the 12th such concert at the White House since 2009.

Chin was named one of Caribbean Journal’s Most Interesting People in the Caribbean for 2013.
