The new Radisson Cartagena Ocean Pavilion hotel has opened its doors in Colombia.

The 233-room beachfront resort is set on La Boquilla Beach on the Caribbean Sea.

“The opening of this resort reinforces our commitment to enhance the brand’s portfolio and further expand our presence in key resort destinations throughout the Americas,” said Javier Rosenberg, chief operating officer, Radisson, in a release. “Cartagena is the most visited city in Colombia for tourists, therefore resort locations such as this play a key role as we continue to develop Radisson as a powerful, globally consistent, first-class brand.”

The hotel has 11,000 square feet of indoor function space, a grand ballroom and meeting rooms, along with five restaurants and bars.

“We look forward to offering guests a new experience at the Radisson Cartagena Ocean Pavillion,” said Tomas Zeisel, general manager of the hotel. “Cartagena is a city that captures the imagination, from the colonial wall old town to the welcoming port. It offers travelers hundreds of years of history and culture, as well as modern attractions and facilities, such as the new Radisson.”

The new property is the latest hotel to open in Cartagena, accompanying the opening of two new Allure hotels, a Karisma brand.

Radisson is in the midst of a wider expansion in the Caribbean, with recent debuts in markets including Grenada and Barbados last year.
