The Cayman Enterprise City special economic zone has begun a campaign to court tech and media companies in the United Kingdom.

The economic zone project says it is looking for companies in the internet and technology, media and marketing, commodities and derivatives, biotech and academic and training sectors.

Cayman Enterprise City CEO Charlie Kirkconnell recently launched the new campaign in the UK, hoping to position the project as the “ideal business base for British tech and media companies looking to attract new business by expanding into the North and Latin America markets.”

“Cayman’s Special Economic zone has made it both easy and cost-effective for companies to set up a genuine physical presence in the Cayman Islands to conduct business with North and Latin American companies on the same time zone, from this strategically located tax-neutral jurisdiction,” Kirkconnell said in a release.

The hope is for the Cayman Enterprise City project to become a hub of tech and media innovation, with Cayman’s favourable tax policy and geographic location as a draw.

Benefits for companies who set up at CEC include 100 percent exemptions from corporate tax, capital gains tax, sales tax, income tax and import duties, along with a 10-day setup of operations, among other features.
