Haiti and Canadian travel firm Transat are readying the launch of travel packages for American tourists.

The new Haiti vacation packages, offered by Transat Holidays USA, will include a pair of combination packages including travel to Port-au-Prince and the beaches of Cote des Arcadins.

One package, for seven nights, includes two nights in the capital with five nights on the Cote des Arcadins, while a four-night package features two nights each in Port-au-Prince and the Cote des Arcadins, excluding airfare out of the US.

The Port-au-Prince portion of the trip includes stops at the MUPANAH museum, the Barbancourt Rhum distillery and the Boutilliers Observatory.

Haiti’s Tourism Ministry and Transat officially announced the packages at a ceremony in Miami this weekend.

“Our development strategy is based primarily on tourism cooperation with selected partners like Transat,” Haiti Tourism Minister Stephanie Villedrouin announced in a statement. “Haiti has all the potential to win the hearts of international travelers.”

One US-based trip will be departing each month, with the first on July 17.

Transat first partnered with Haiti’s Tourism Ministry on Canadian travel packages at end of last year, with one trip departing from Canada to Haiti each month.
