Jamaica and Cuba have signed an agreement on cultural cooperation.

The agreement was signed by Cuba Culture Minister Rafael Bernal and Jamaica Culture Minister Lisa Hanna on Thursday.

“We want a cultural revolution in Jamaica, and I believe that with the help and experience of Cuba, we can make that possible,” Hanna said after the signing.

Hanna began her Cuba visit earlier this week.

Hanna said that Cuba was “one of the most important examples for the world for cultural practice — not only for art demonstrations, but for work with the individual.”

Bernal said the agreement would organize joint work on training and community work between the two Caribbean neighbours.
