Adrian Garcia, sheriff of Harris County in Texas, has pledged his department’s support for St Kitts and Nevis on law enforcement issues.

Garcia recently met with St Kitts and Nevis Police Commissioner CG Walwyn, who was on a visit to Texas.

Walwyn attended the Harris County Sheriff’s Academy in 1986, serving as a deputy there from 1991 until he moved to Orlando in 2003.

Garcia said his department will support the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force in a sister agency partnership.

He leads the largest sheriff’s office in Texas, and the third-largest in the United States.

Walwyn is a former officer in the United States Virgin Islands.

He said he considered the Harris County Sherrif’s system an “outstanding” resource for ideas.
