There’s a New Way to Fly Between the US Virgin Islands and Dominica
There’s a new way to get between the US Virgin Islands and Dominica.
American carrier Contour Airlines just kicked off its new connection between St Thomas and Dominica, opening up a major new connection for the Nature Island of the Caribbean.
Dominica, which has been seeing steady growth in regional airlift in the last few years, will now be opened up to the vast number of flights from the US mainland to St Thomas.
Contour already has interline agreements with both American Airlines and United.
Contour Airlines, which is based in Tennessee, recently announced an expansion push into the Caribbean, one that will also include flights from Puerto Rico to Dominica.
Contour has a fleet of small 30-seat Embraer jets, which aim to provide a more comfortable experience — with more legroom — than what you’d typically find on an intra-regional flight in the Caribbean, where those routes are typically served by ATR prop planes.
So what does a Contour flight to Dominica cost?
About $409.10 roundtrip in the carrier’s “standard” class. The flight takes about one hour and 15 minutes.
