Palace Resorts Is Opening Its First Dominican Republic All-Inclusive, With a Spa and a Greg Norman Golf Course
Palace Resorts is planning to open its newest Caribbean property, Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana, in spring 2026, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The resort is being developed on a 297-acre beachfront site in the Bávaro area of Punta Cana. The project includes two 18-story towers and a central clubhouse structure, all of which have reached structural completion. Work is currently focused on interiors, mechanical systems, and finishing details. When operational, the property will be the largest oceanfront resort in the Dominican Republic in terms of total guest rooms.
Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana is designed with a vertical layout to preserve green space and minimize impact on surrounding natural areas. The site plan includes a protected 400-meter mangrove zone. Elevated pathways will provide access between guest accommodations and beachfront areas, the company says.
The family-friendly resort is being positioned as a new addition to Palace Resorts’ existing portfolio, which includes properties in Cancun, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, and Ocho Rios. It will be the company’s first resort in the Dominican Republic.
Once open, the property will offer a variety of guest room types and include dining venues, entertainment facilities, and pools.
Most notably? The hotel has announced a Greg Norman “eco-signature” golf course, although the timeline on that development hasn’t yet been revealed.
Palace Resorts currently operates ten all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, including flagship properties like Moon Palace Cancun, The Grand at Moon Palace, Beach Palace, Sun Palace, and Playacar Palace. In the Caribbean, the company manages Moon Palace Jamaica in Ocho Rios as well.
The company has not yet announced an exact opening date. However, the official timeline remains set for spring 2026.
What about bookings? The company says bookings will open on Sept. 1, according to the Palace Resorts website.
