Avianca Launches Nonstop Flights Between Dallas and Bogotá

By: Caitlin Sullivan - May 27, 2025 - 12:11 pm

Avianca has added another key link between Colombia and the United States.

The airline this week launched new nonstop service between Dallas and Bogotá, operating four times per week on Airbus A320 aircraft. The route adds more than 1,400 seats each week between the two cities and brings Avianca’s total U.S.-Colombia network to 19 direct routes.

“With this new route between Dallas and Bogotá, we now offer 19 direct routes from Colombia to nine U.S. destinations, with more than 170 weekly flights scheduled for the June 2025 peak travel season,” said Avianca CEO Frederico Pedreira. “This growth not only broadens our service options for travelers, but also strengthens our position as one of the leading airlines in the region.”

The expansion continues Avianca’s steady buildup of connectivity across the Americas, with Dallas joining cities like Boston, New York, and Miami in a growing network of direct routes from Bogotá and other Colombian gateways.

“The launch of the direct Dallas–Bogotá route is great news for travelers and a major step forward in strengthening ties between the United States and Colombia,” said Carmen Caballero, president of ProColombia, the country’s top tourism promotion arm. “At ProColombia, we are proud to support Avianca’s commitment to expanding connectivity, a key pillar of our strategy to position Colombia—the country of beauty—as a top destination for tourism, business, and investment.”

Andrés Fernando Diez Martínez, Consul of Colombia in Dallas, echoed that sentiment.

“This new connection will foster greater exchange, bringing more travelers, entrepreneurs, and opportunities in both directions,” he said, “and reflects the growing importance of bilateral tourism and business ties.”

Avianca’s current U.S.–Colombia route map includes service from Bogotá to nine U.S. cities: Boston, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Washington, New York, Orlando, Miami, Chicago, and Tampa, along with flights from Cartagena, Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla, and Pereira.

The airline has been adding several new routes in the last year, including just-launched flights to destinations like Guatemala and Nicaragua.

Flights are going for around $518 roundtrip right now, according to Google Flights.

Where to stay? A national landmark turned luxury hideaway, Casa Medina blends historic character with modern comfort in Bogotá’s buzzing financial district. Inside the 1940s Tudor-style building, you’ll find rooms with hand-carved wooden beams, wrought-iron accents, and stone fireplaces that feel more like a private residence than a hotel. It’s warm, quiet, and rich with old-world charm. The best part? The price, with rooms starting as low as $378 per night.
