Checking In: A Tiny Hotel in Anse Marcel, Saint Martin

Our new feature Checking In gives you a quick-bite look into hotels across the region, particularly “new” discoveries we’ve made. First up? Blue Sail, a tiny eight-room hotel that just opened a couple of years ago in St Martin.
The boutique property isn’t on the beach, but it is steps from the lovely Anse Marcel marina on the French side of the island and, more importantly, close to Anse Marcel beach, one of the most beautiful stretches of sand on an island filled with them.

The rooms are sleek and well-appointed, with espresso machines, cool shiplap aesthetics and comfortable outdoor patios with wet bars.
There’s also a terrific bar and restaurant on the main floor with a view of the marina.

It’s a unique, well-priced option on an island that encourages you to get out and explore: that includes the growing number of retail and dining options within the commercial village of Anse Marcel and, of course, nearby Grand Case and Orient Bay, both of which are just a short drive.
The best part is the price: you can find rooms for less than $167 per night right now.
How under-the-radar is it? It doesn’t even have a website, but you can contact bluesailhotelsxm@gmail.com for more info.
