There’s a New Way to Fly to the Caribbean Island of Martinique

The volcanos. The rainforests. The rum distilleries. The out-of-this-world restaurants. It’s hard to believe the Caribbean island of Martinique is still under the radar of most travelers — but that’s in part what makes it such a fascinating place to visit, as we have done so many times over the years. 

The island is also more accessible than ever — thanks to recently-expanded flights from Miami and another new route that just launched this week: Caribbean Airlines’ new flights to Martinique from Trinidad. 

The new connection is operating four times each week between Port of Spain and Fort-de-France. Two of them are nonstop, and the other two will stop once in Barbados. 

They flights open up Martinique to the broader number of flights that come in to both Barbados and Trinidad from places like the United States and the United Kingdom. 

The move is “pivotal to achieving our vision of connecting the region seamlessly and sustainably,” Caribbean Airlines CEO Garvin Madera said in a statement provided to Caribbean Journal. In all, the new flights will be adding almost 300 seats each week to both makers.
