Delta Is Adding More Nonstop Curacao Flights, Citing “Booming Demand”

By: Alexander Britell - February 3, 2024

Curacao is hotter than ever, with a wave of new hotels and record-breaking tourism numbers. And just a few months after Delta made its long-awaited return to the island, the carrier is adding even more flights.

The reason? What Delta calls a response to “booming demand for Curacao’s colorful architecture, crystal clear waters and rich culinary scene.”

Beginning in November, Delta will be expanding its Atlanta-Curacao service from once-weekly on Saturdays to daily service. That expansion will begin Nov. 23, according to the company.

The enhanced Curacao service will depart Atlanta at 9:45 AM, arriving in Curacao at around 2:45 PM.

Delta is operating the flights on Boeing 737-800 service, the company said.

It’s another boost for an island that continues to see its arrival numbers surge, with a tourism renaissance that largely began with the arrival of the Sandals Royal Curacao resort back in the summer of 2022.

Since then, Curacao has been growing at a breakneck pace, particularly out of the Unite States market.

In December, Delta made its first flight to Curacao since 2010.

Are you planning a getaway to Curacao? While the island is perhaps most famous for its charming, historic capital of Willemstad, there’s so much more to Curacao, from world-class luxury resorts like the Baoase to the stunning, pristine beaches on its western coast.

Travelers to the Dutch Caribbean hotspot will also find a thriving food scene, buoyed by the recent entry of the Brass Boer, from the team behind the three-Michelin-star Die Librije restaurant in Holland (and the Brass Boer in Bonaire, named the number one restaurant in the Caribbean for two consecutive years).

And Sandals isn’t the only new property. The historic Kura Hulanda has gotten a major facelift (and a relaunch as an adults-only resort), and Hilton just opened a new all-inclusive resort called The Rif at Mangrove Beach. The latter is part of an expanding number of all-inclusive resorts on the island, from brands like Hyatt to Wyndham’s Trademark Collection.
