Jamaica Eyes Record-Breaking Arrival Numbers

After a banner summer, Jamaica is eyeing a strong fall season that could catapult it to a new tourism record.

The island will have a total of 1.1 million scheduled airline seats this fall, the most Jamaica has ever had in the fall season.

Jamaica is now projecting 2.814 million stopover visitors for 2023, which would represent a 5 percent increase over its previous record set in 2019, before the pandemic.

That would mean $4.2 billion in tourism earnings, according to Donovan White, director of tourism at the Jamaica Tourist Board.

“We are extremely ecstatic that we are growing in the right places and growing steadily,” White said in a statement.
