Germany’s Condor Is Returning to Barbados

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - June 28, 2023

As Barbados continues to make a push to court travelers from Europe, the island has announced the return of Gerrman carrier Condor.

The popular leisure carrier is making its comeback to Barbados for the upcoming winter season, according to Shelly Williams, chairman of the board of Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc.

“As those in the tourism industry know, traditionally, Germany has been the stronger market for Barbados within the European bloc,” Williams said.

This winter, Condor will be operating a twice-weekly direct flight between Frankfurt and Barbados’ Grantley Adams International Airport.

More broadly, Barbados has been seeing a lift from Europe, including a popular route between Amsterdam and Barbados last winter on KLM.

“Our focus for Europe therefore will be on solidifying our presence in Germany, and aggressively deploying sales and marketing tools to continue to grow business for Barbados in that market,” Williams said.
