A proposed $2 billion-plus resort and residential development on Puerto Rico’s southwest coast has cleared a major regulatory hurdle, allowing Reuben Brothers and Three Rules Capital to proceed with one of the Caribbean’s largest planned luxury real estate projects.
The developers said Esencia, a more than 2,000-acre project overlooking the Caribbean Sea, has received approval to advance after years of environmental review, government agency evaluations and community consultation.
