This Is the Only Resort in Bermuda With an All-Inclusive Plan — And It’s Getting Bigger

It's the only way to take an all-inclusive vacation to Bermuda.

At the eastern edge of Bermuda, where planes descend low over turquoise water and limestone cliffs, Grotto Bay Beach Resort & Spa has always felt quietly essential. It’s the first resort many travelers see when they land, and often the one they remember most clearly: intimate, self-contained, and unmistakably Bermudian.

Now, the longtime favorite is preparing for its next chapter. Grotto Bay Beach Resort & Spa has announced plans to add 48 new guest rooms over the next two years, an expansion that will increase the resort’s overall capacity by roughly 25 percent.

Building on Recent Upgrades

The room expansion follows a series of enhancements to the resort’s central gathering spaces, anchored by updates to the Great House. The heart of the property has been reimagined with expanded dining rooms that open directly onto ocean views, blurring the line between indoors and out. These spaces now feel lighter, airier, and more in tune with the coastline that surrounds them.

The Great House also now includes a new meeting and event venue capable of hosting up to 170 guests, positioning Grotto Bay as an increasingly viable option for small conferences, incentive travel, and destination gatherings. It’s a subtle but important evolution for a resort that has traditionally leaned leisure-first, without losing its sense of place.

Above it all sits one of the most notable additions: the Panorama Lounge. The outdoor, covered rooftop bar delivers uninterrupted, 180-degree views across the water, stretching out toward Castle Islands. It’s the kind of space that naturally reshapes how guests spend their evenings, lingering longer as the light fades and the breeze rolls in from the harbor.

An All-Inclusive Option, Bermudian Style

Grotto Bay’s growth comes at a moment when the resort is seeing particularly strong demand, driven in part by its distinctive position in the Bermuda market. It remains the island’s only hotel offering an all-inclusive supplement, a rarity in a destination better known for European-plan stays.

For families and short-stay travelers, that model has proven especially appealing. With meals, drinks, and activities bundled into a single supplement, the resort has become a reliable choice for quick getaways that don’t require extensive planning. The proximity to L.F. Wade International Airport only reinforces that appeal, making Grotto Bay an easy entry point to the island.

Despite the convenience, the experience still feels grounded in Bermuda rather than imported from elsewhere. Days unfold around the resort’s private beaches, sheltered coves, and walking paths that trace the edge of the water, with the island’s pink-sand character never far from view.

The Caves Beneath the Resort

What continues to set Grotto Bay apart, however, lies beneath the surface. Quite literally.

The resort is built around a dramatic natural cave system, one of the most distinctive features of any hotel in the Caribbean. These caves aren’t just scenic curiosities; they form the setting for some of the resort’s most memorable experiences.

At the center is the Natura Spa, housed within a limestone cave overlooking an underground lake. Guests descend into a world of cool stone, filtered light, and still water, surrounded by stalactites and stalagmites that have taken thousands of years to form. Treatments here feel less like spa appointments and more like rituals, shaped as much by the environment as by technique.

The caves are also woven into the broader guest experience, offering moments of quiet exploration that feel deeply tied to Bermuda’s geological story. It’s a reminder that the island’s beauty doesn’t stop at the shoreline.

Expanding Without Losing the Feel

The addition of 48 rooms is designed to complement, rather than overwhelm, what already works. Grotto Bay has long appealed to travelers who want something relaxed and contained, without the anonymity that can come with larger resorts.

By sequencing the expansion over two years, the resort is taking a deliberate approach, allowing infrastructure, service, and staffing to evolve alongside the physical footprint. The goal, according to the resort, is to meet rising demand while maintaining the easy rhythm that defines a stay here.

For Bermuda, the investment also signals confidence in continued travel interest, particularly from families and short-break visitors looking for an uncomplicated island escape.

Looking Ahead

From sunset drinks at the Panorama Lounge to quiet moments beside an underground lake, Grotto Bay’s appeal has always been about discovery — not just of the island, but of the spaces that make it unique. With its latest expansion plans, the resort is making room for more travelers to find that experience for themselves

Prices at Grotto Bay

Rooms at Grotto start at around $281 per night, according to Google Hotels. If you want the all-inclusive supplement, it’s $139 per day per adult, $85 per child. That includes gratuity.
