A New Island-Hopping Option in the Caribbean, From Tortola to Barbados and St Maarten
InterCaribbean Airways will launch new nonstop service from Tortola to both Barbados and St. Maarten beginning Mar. 8, 2026, expanding regional airlift and strengthening north–south connectivity across the Caribbean.
The airline will operate seven weekly flights between Tortola and Barbados. Four of those flights will be nonstop, while three additional weekly services will operate via St. Maarten, creating new nonstop service between Tortola and St. Maarten while also linking all three destinations.
The new routes significantly expand connectivity from interCaribbean’s Tortola hub. Travelers in the British Virgin Islands will gain direct access to Barbados along with onward connections across the Southern Caribbean, including Guyana, Grenada, St. Lucia, Trinidad and St. Vincent. At the same time, passengers traveling from Barbados and the Southern Caribbean will have new access to the Northern Caribbean through connections via Tortola and St. Maarten.
Chairman Lyndon Gardiner said expanding nonstop options from Tortola has been a long-standing priority for the airline. He said adding Barbados and St. Maarten strengthens access to the carrier’s wider Caribbean network in both directions and reinforces its long-term commitment to the British Virgin Islands, where it has operated for the past decade.
The expansion is supported by the airline’s growing fleet, which now includes 11 ATR turboprop aircraft, allowing interCaribbean to increase frequencies and add new routes across its regional network.
