The Condado Vanderbilt is a fave.

It’s one of the most striking designs in Puerto Rico: the Condado Vanderbilt hotel, the luxury gem in San Juan’s Condado district whose pedigree dates back to 1919.

Condado Vanderbilt Hotel in San Juan has completed a full renovation of its guestrooms, suites and corridors. The update, designed by HBA International, blends the hotel’s historic 1919 structure with contemporary design elements.

The renovation includes 317 guestrooms, among them 100 suites, with interior details referencing Spanish Colonial architecture and Caribbean craftsmanship. Updates feature white moldings, green tones, marble finishes and curated artwork.

The hotel has also launched an In-Suite Wellness Package. The program includes Commodore Oceanfront Suite accommodations, daily butler service, an in-room wellness kit, guided yoga access, aromatherapy products, a reflection journal, daily breakfast for two and a $200 hotel credit. A two-night minimum stay is required, with blackout dates from Dec. 25–Jan. 3 and select long weekends.

Alongside the renovation, Condado Vanderbilt has appointed Executive Chef Juan A. Peña to lead its culinary operations. Peña brings more than 25 years of experience, with prior roles at The Ritz-Carlton Isla Verde, The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort and Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. He now oversees eight dining outlets, in-room dining and banquet operations.

“This milestone represents both an evolution and a renewal for Condado Vanderbilt,” said Ben Tutt, managing partner of The Condado Collection.

Rolando Padua, president of Paulson Puerto Rico, said the renovation reflects ongoing investment in Puerto Rico’s hospitality sector.

Our editors named it one of the top resorts in Puerto Rico.
