Margaritaville Is Opening a New All-Inclusive Resort on the Caribbean Island of Roatan
A major new resort is coming to one of the Caribbean’s most beloved under-the-radar destinations. The Margaritaville Island Reserve Resort Roatan, an all-inclusive resort from Karisma Hotels and Resorts and Margaritaville, is officially underway, with a projected debut in 2027. It will mark the third property in Margaritaville’s Island Reserve collection and the brand’s first-ever resort in Honduras.
Set on 8.8 acres along 200 meters of shoreline in Turtling Bay, the resort will feature 170 guest rooms, including oceanfront suites and swim-up accommodations.
All-Inclusive Dining and Signature Margaritaville Amenities
Guests will have access to a variety of signature dining concepts, including Frank & Lola’s Italian Trattoria, JWB Prime Steakhouse, The Boathouse Market Dining, and the iconic Cheeseburger in Paradise. All food and beverages will be included with the stay.
The resort will also include Margaritaville’s signature bars: 5 o’Clock Somewhere, License to Chill, and the LandShark Brewery, which will serve locally brewed selections on a terrace overlooking the sea — the first of its kind in the region.
Entertainment, Relaxation, and Weddings in Paradise
Beyond the culinary experiences, the resort will include multiple pools, the St. Somewhere Spa, a Fins Up! Fitness Center, Parakeets Kid’s Club, pickleball courts, and 575 square meters of meeting space.
Couples will have access to a scenic Sky Wedding venue, designed to host elevated celebrations with panoramic ocean views.
A key entertainment hub will be the Margaritaville Beach Club, with capacity for up to 800 guests and facilities designed to host major concerts, music festivals, and large-scale events. The Beach Club will include a covered stage, VIP cabanas, a splash pad, a main pool, a snack gazebo, and a commercial area spotlighting local brands and handmade crafts.
A Regenerative and Sustainable Vision for Roatan
The development will also mark a new milestone for sustainable tourism in the Caribbean.
Margaritaville Island Reserve Resort Roatan will embrace Regenerative Tourism principles, with a mission to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of Turtling Bay. Key initiatives include planting native vegetation to support marine habitats — including those for sea turtles — and integrating agroforestry principles to promote soil health and reforestation, the company told Caribbean Journal.
The project will establish an edible forest to attract pollinators and native fauna, while also offering educational workshops and conservation training for local residents. These efforts align with the United Nations 2050 Sustainability Goals to create a more resilient and biodiverse coastal destination.
Getting to Roatan
Roatan has become increasingly accessible thanks to direct flights from major U.S. cities including Miami, Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta, with service from carriers like American Airlines, United, and Delta. The island’s Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport (RTB) is just a short drive from the Turtling Bay site, making the new Margaritaville resort an easy escape for travelers from the US.
