This Might Be the Most Entertaining All-Inclusive Resort in Punta Cana, With Swim-Up Rooms, a Waterpark, and a Bowling Alley

The Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort Spa & Casino in Punta Cana.

You lean back on your lounger and the pool seems to stretch endlessly toward the sea. A soft breeze moves through the palm trees. A tray arrives with something cold and tropical, and you haven’t had to ask twice all day.

This is Lopesan Costa Bávaro, a high-design all-inclusive resort on one of the Dominican Republic’s most scenic stretches of sand — Bávaro Beach.

From the moment you enter the open-air lobby, you’re surrounded by space and calm: wide walkways, multi-level pools, and an easy flow between suites, restaurants, and the beach. It’s a large resort, but everything feels designed to move around, not wait around. The design is impressive everywhere you look — thoughtful, creative and far from your typical all-inclusive experience.

A Resort Made to Wander

Set on the soft white sand of Bávaro Beach, Lopesan Costa Bávaro is designed with scale in mind. It’s expansive but walkable — with wide open spaces that shift between tropical gardens, quiet hideaways, and pools that wind through the heart of the property.

There are seven pools, including a beachfront infinity pool, a long swim-up suite corridor, and an adults-only pool tucked away from the action. The Unique Club area has its own pool and private beach access, available to guests who opt for upgraded accommodations.

Everywhere you go, there’s a feeling of openness. You might move from a shaded cabana to a pool bar, then drift to a daybed on the beach — and still feel like you’ve only seen half the resort.

Dining and Drinks Across the Property

With more than 20 dining and bar options, variety is part of the experience. There’s a large buffet with nightly themes, along with à la carte spots for Mexican, Mediterranean, Asian, and steakhouse fare.

The beachfront grill is popular during the day, while coffee bars, pastry shops, and late-night snack stations keep things moving between meals.

Guests staying in the Unique Club have access to additional à la carte restaurants, private breakfast service, and premium drinks in quieter lounges.

The all-inclusive plan covers all meals, drinks, and most snacks, with a few upgraded items available for an extra charge. We highly recommend the Unique Club — it comes with its own exclusive eatery, and the breakfast and lunch in particular are the best in all of Punta Cana.

The Boulevard

At the center of the resort is The Boulevard, a pedestrian promenade that connects the heart of Lopesan Costa Bávaro. It’s more than just a walkway — it’s where you’ll find shops, cafes, live music venues, and even a bowling alley. In the evening, the Boulevard comes alive with pop-up performances, people strolling with gelato, and couples stopping for cocktails or espresso under hanging lights. It’s a social space that gives the resort an added layer of energy — something between a town square and an entertainment district, all just steps from your room. And did we mention the rum bar?

Casino, Nightlife, and Evening Shows

The resort’s casino is one of the largest in Punta Cana, with table games, slots, and a bar lounge. There’s also an open-air theater that hosts music, dance, and variety shows several nights a week.

For those who want nightlife, Vibe is the resort’s on-site club, often open late with live DJs and rotating theme nights.

Evening hours are active but flexible — whether you’re up for dancing, sitting down for a show, or enjoying a quiet drink near the beach.

Rooms and Suites (And Swim-Ups)

Rooms are modern, with clean lines, cool tones, and neutral accents. All have private balconies or terraces, rainfall showers, and espresso machines.

Swim-up suites allow guests to step directly into a shared pool from their patio. Oceanview and Unique Club rooms offer upgraded locations and services, including faster check-in, private lounges, and better proximity to the beach.

Standard rooms are large and well-appointed, with plenty of space even in entry categories.

What It Costs

A standard, sleek room at the Lopesan will cost you about $370 right now, according to Google Hotels data. For one of the awesome swim-up suites, the price is about $643.78 per night. As we say, the swim-up is always worth the splurge.

Location and Access

Lopesan Costa Bávaro is about 25 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport, with direct access via private transfer or shuttle service.

There’s a reason why our editors consistently rate this resort their favorite in Punta Cana.
