It Was the World’s First Airline With Its Own Rum Punch. Now Cayman Airways Has a Signature Beer, Too.

By: Caitlin Sullivan - June 21, 2025 - 12:06 pm

Cayman Airways made history when it became the first airline in the world to serve its own signature rum punch. Now it’s making another first—this time with beer.

The airline has launched Sir Turtle’s Sky Brew, a custom craft IPA developed in partnership with Cayman Islands Brewery, marking the first time a Caribbean-based airline has introduced its own inflight craft beer. The new brew is now being served exclusively aboard Cayman Airways’ international jet flights, offering passengers a uniquely local taste at cruising altitude.

Crafted specifically for the inflight experience, Sky Brew was designed to retain its flavor in the dry, pressurized air of an aircraft cabin. Leadership from both Cayman Airways and Caybrew took part in ground and inflight tasting sessions to refine the blend—resulting in a bold yet smooth beer that drinks crisp at 30,000 feet.

“We are proud to partner with Caybrew on this exciting initiative that not only enhances the in-flight experience, but also further showcases the uniquely Caymanian travel experience that only Cayman Airways offers,” said Paul Tibbetts, Executive Vice President for Commercial Affairs and Chief Financial Officer at Cayman Airways.

Sky Brew now joins the airline’s iconic Seven Fathoms Rum Punch as a signature inflight offering—another example of how the national carrier continues to celebrate Caymanian culture and craftsmanship.

The beer officially launched on May 22, 2025. Adult passengers on international jet flights can enjoy one complimentary can of Sky Brew, with additional servings available onboard for $6.
