Brimstone HIll is one of the most stunning historic sites in the Caribbean.

It’s one of the most stunning locations in the Caribbean: Brimstone Hill, the towering fortress in the mountains of St Kitts, a centuries-old UNESCO World Heritage Site.

And now it’s the home of the hottest new restaurant in the Caribbean.

It’s called 17°62° Gibraltar Gastrolounge, a hip, colorful eatery in the heart of one of the Caribbean’s most spectacular historic settings — with dynamic food and hard-to-match views.

It’s quickly become the island’s new destination restaurant, with a creative menu of everything from ahi tuna “galleons” (keeping with the British fort theme) to calamari and ceviche.

The idea by Chef O’Keeffe Marshall is to source local ingredients, venerating the history and farm-to-table culture on the island.

There’s also a menu of cocktails and wine (along with a mocktail selection).

Most importantly, it’s open for dinner, too.

“We’re very excited about this new offering at Brimstone Hill,” St Kitts Tourism Authority CEO Kelly Fontenelle told Caribbean Journal in an interview.

She said it offered travelers a new option when they visit Brimstone Hill — including options for larger groups, weddings and incentive travel.
