Anguilla Has Been Making a Year-Round Tourism Push. Now, It’s Seeing Record-Breaking Tourism Numbers.
Anguilla posted its highest number of December visitor arrivals since records began in 1993, according to government data.
The island welcomed 23,871 visitors in December 2024, a 24.5 percent increase over the same month in 2023, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The figure exceeds previous December highs, including 20,961 visitors in 2014 and 19,178 in 2023.
Officials attribute the growth to a rise in both stay-over tourists and day-trippers, with 99.3 percent of visitors arriving for leisure travel, according to local tourism officials.

The United States remains Anguilla’s primary source market, accounting for 70.6 percent of December arrivals.
U.S. visitor numbers rose 14.3 percent from a year earlier, totaling 9,317. Canada and the Caribbean followed with 6.8 percent and 4.8 percent shares, respectively.
Seven source markets recorded year-over-year increases.

March and December 2024 were Anguilla’s strongest months for arrivals, matching 2019’s performance.
The months of June and October also saw year-over-year improvements.
Anguilla has been working to reposition itself as a year-round destination, as Caribbean Journal previously reported. Part of that was decisions by hotels like the island’s premier resort, Aurora, to remain open throughout the summer.
Those efforts seem to have been paying off.
