Delta Air Lines Is Launching Its First-Ever Nonstop Flights to Two Caribbean Islands: Grenada and St Vincent

By: Alexander Britell - April 9, 2025 - 6:34 pm

The island-hopping delights of St Vincent and the Grenadines. The stunning beaches and rainforests of Grenada. They’re two of the most naturally beautiful Caribbean islands, each with distinct charms, copious beaches and world-class sailing.

They’re also the two newest Caribbean islands for Delta Air Lines, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Delta is adding both Southern Caribbean destinations to its network, with nonstop flights to both islands out of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

The new routes will both be kicking off on Dec. 20, running through the peak until at least April 12, 2026. That could change depending on demand for the routes. Most importantly, both flights will be operating every day of the week.

So what do you need to know about these islands?

We absolutely adore Grenada: it’s beautiful, friendly and chill, with one of the best, most diverse hotel products of any Caribbean island, at least based on our experience, and a quietly wonderful culinary scene (a meal at the Rhodes Restaurant at the Calabash Hotel Is a must). There are so many authentic, unique hotels to choose from, starting with the legendary Spice Island Beach Resort (more on our recent stay here) right at the top of the Caribbean’s luxury all-inclusive pantheon; the hip, luxe new Silversands Beach House (rooms from $803) or the barefoot-fun, rustic Laluna right next door (rooms starting at $534).

Grenada is also one of the top hotspots in the hemisphere for travelers seeking out sustainability, from its abundant agriculture (the produce of which often finds its way onto hotel plates) to its unique chocolate-making industry (which is celebrated every year in an annual festival).

The newest Sandals in the Caribbean in in St Vincent, and it’s already having a big impact on the island’s tourism business.

St Vincent and the Grenadines has 32 different islands in its archipelago, and that makes it an island hopper’s paradise; if you’re looking for a getaway, there’s really one prominent hotel to stay in on the “mainland” of St Vincent, which only got an international airport five years ago: the Sandals St Vincent and the Grenadines all-inclusive, which opened last year and is the country’s new flagship hotel.

But there are myriad places to stay on the smaller islands, whether it’s old-school Caribbean retreats like the Bequia Beach Hotel (rooms from $378), the luxe Mandarin Oriental on Canouan ($1,500 per night) or the lovely Cotton House on the quasi-private island of Mustique. St Vincent is really many different destinations in one, with each island carving out a discrete personality, from the eco-focus on St Vincent to the luxe, serene environs of Canouan.

So what about flight prices on the new routes? The Atlanta-St Vincent route has fares on Dec. 20 starting at $1,346, although you should note that’s right in the heart of the peak festive season and should go down in January.

As for Atlanta-Grenada, during the same period the flights are $915 roundtrip starting in Delta’s basic classed $1,215 in Comfort+.
