Caribbean Cruise Tip: Celebrity Is Actually a Great Option for Families

By: Alexander Britell - November 2, 2024 - 4:41 pm

We’ve always been fans of Celebrity Cruises. It manages to cultivate a boutique feel as compared to its sister brand, Royal Caribbean.

There’s a serene, put-together vibe everywhere on the ship. It’s a bit more elegant, the on-board activities are outstanding (make sure you try a wine-tasting) and the food is great, too.

But the perception of Celebrity tends to be one of a couples-focused brands. Generally speaking, that’s true: the vast majority of guests on most ships are adults and couples. But what you may not realize is that Celebrity is actually a great option for family cruises.

It’s one of the brand’s best-kept secrets. It starts with the kids’ club, called Camp at Sea— and, because there tends to be a lower percentage of kids on board, your kids get more attention and a small-classroom kind of vibe.

On our recent cruise on Celebrity Beyond, our kids absolutely loved the kids’ club — it wasn’t the type where you leave your kids for an hour or two and hope they find something to do. They were engaged, active and didn’t want to leave.

It also means your kids (as ours were) tend to be more of a happy novelty to the other guests – rather than, as can happen on many other large ships, competing annoyances.

Right now, Celebrity has Caribbean cruises on sale for as low as $276. You can find more at Celebrity.
