It’s been the most exclusive place to stay in the Dominican Republic for decades, hosting celebrities, heads of state and sports legends to its 7,000-acre resort and club in La Romana.

In recent years, it’s hosted major motion pictures (like Sandra Bullock’s “The Lost City”), Martha Stewart’s iconic Sports Illustated cover shoot and Blair Underwood’s wedding.

Now the Casa de Campo Resort and Villas is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and the legendary property is hosting a big birthday party later this month.

Casa de Campo kicks off its 50th Anniversary Weekend from Oct. 24-27, with everything from a pair of Grammy-award winning performances to a $50,000 Hole in One Competition.

That’s along with a live rock ’n roll party at Minitas Beach, a fireworks extravaganza, among other events.

“Throughout the last five decades, Casa de Campo has consistently established itself as the epitome of luxury hospitality in the Dominican Republic and has continued to evolve into the world-renowned resort community that it is today,” said Jason Kycek, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Casa de Campo, in a statement shared with Caribbean Journal.

The Anniversary Weekend is a hot ticket; the resort is also launching limited-time package that includes a room in Casa de Campo’s new Premier Club (which we loved on our recent stay at the property), a 50-minute spa treatment at the resort’s sparkling new wellness center; and another 50-minute activity of your choosing.

In even bigger news, in December, American Airlines will be launching new nonstop service between Miami and La Romana International Airport, whic his on the grounds of Casa de Campo.

“We are immensely honored to commemorate this 50-year milestone, and are excited to share the historical past, present, and future of Casa de Campo with the world,” Kycek said. “Casa de Campo is a special place, and we are grateful to the ownership for their ongoing commitment to continue to make it even more special in the years to come.”
