ESPN Is Hosting a Fantasy Football Weekend in The Bahamas
The Bahamas has become one of the region’s top sports tourism destinations in recent years, from college bowl games to LPGA tournaments to the Battle for Atlantis and Baha Mar Hoops.
Now, the destination is tapping into another kind of sport.
Sports giant ESPN is partnering with the Baha Mar resort in Nassau for the first-of-its-kind ESPN Fantasy Football Ultiamte Draft Weekend.
The event, which will run from Aug. 22-25, will include everything from draft advice from ESPN fantasy experts to a full-fledged Draft Day.
This event will include top ESPN experts including Field Yates, Stephania Bell, Mike Clay, and Daniel Dopp.
“”We’re thrilled to work with ESPN Fantasy Football to host the inaugural ESPN Fantasy Football Ultimate Draft Weekend at Baha Mar this August,” says Graeme Davis, President of Baha Mar. “ESPN Fantasy Football is the most popular game in the world of fantasy sports and, like Baha Mar, loves to bring people together for amazing, world-class fan experiences.”
Leagues can participate in a “Draft Combine” to determine their league’s draft order: think beach races, football skills competitions and slide races. You can also choose a day of golf at the Royal Blue course, a basketball combine; or a blackjack tournament, among other options.
Other highlights include a “2 Minute Drill” that will see all leagues in the Grand Ballroom gathering to make their faint picks.
The event concludes with a party at Marcus Samuelsson’s Marcus at Baha Mar Fish + Chop House.
“Every year, Fantasy Football leagues around the world gather with their friends and family to kick off the season,” says Alexander Healy-Lucciola, Senior Director of Marketing, Fantasy and Sports Betting at ESPN. “The draft is one of the best days of the year, bringing everyone together to choose their teams and play out league traditions.
