A Massive New All-Inclusive Resort Just Opened in Cancun

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - June 21, 2024 - 4:54 pm

Maybe you know the Hard Rock Punta Cana. Or the UNICO Riviera Maya. Or the Nobu in Los Cabos.

Now the company behind some of the region’s most popular resorts has opened another new destination: AVA.

The all-inclusive AVA Resort Cancun is developer RCD Hotels’ second Cancun hotel (its portfolio also includes the Hard Rock Cancun, a sleek, luxe 1,600-room resort in the heart of the Mexican Caribbean.

The new AVA is, in a word, massive: think 27 restaurants and bars, a 22,000-square-foot spa, a fitness center, pickleball courts, a waterpark and even a boxing ring.

AVA has 27 different restaurants on property.

If you stay here you also get a private 120,000-square-foot saltwater “bay,” six pools and an active menu of events and things to do.

Every room has an ocean view — yes, all 1,600 of them, whether you’re staying in a room, suite or villa. The villas, the highest category of accommodation, come with their own private pools, kitchens and bars, along with another trending amenity: butler service.

Ash Tempe of hospitality brand AIC says the resort is designed for multi-generational guests, filling a “notable gap in the market.”

The biggest story just might be the culinary offering: a diverse mix of high-level eateries, shacks, food hall-style markets and taco shacks.

On the beverage side, you’ll get cocktail lounges, an “art-focused bar,” and even an on-site speakeasy. ‘

There is nightlife, too: mixology classes, art lessons, cinema evenings and a special lounge just for teens, too, with everything from bowling to an indoor pool.

For larger groups, weddings and meetings, AVA has 90,000 square feet of flex space, too.

So what does it cost?

Rates are as low as $679 for an oceanfront king night on the resort’s opening exclusive pricing.

Are you heading to Cancun? You’re not alone, as Mexico’s most popular destination seems to just keep getting more and more popular, with new flights from across the United States and some other new hotels, too.
