Asian firm Archipelago is at it again, embarking on a major expansion in the Dominican Republic’s tourism hub of Punta Cana.
So what’s new?
The company has announced the signing of 11 new resorts in Punta Cana, following a just-announced expansion in Santo Domingo.
That includes the 228-room Grand Aston Larimar City Golf Hotel & Residences, Punta Cana; the Grand Aston Cáicu Coral Golf Hotel & Residences, with 669 rooms; Riviera Bay by Aston, Cana Bay, with 110 rooms;; Aston Towers Larimar City, Punta Cana (432 rooms), Paradise Tower by Harper, Punta Cana (144 rooms), Harper Paradise Punta Cana (135 rooms), Aston Arts Hotel & Residences, Punta Cana (368 rooms) and The Alana Experience Punta Cana (530 rooms).
But it’s not just Punta Cana.
The firm is also adding new resorts in the tony enclave of Cap Cana, with a focus on residential-style resorts.
That include Harbor Bay by Aston, Cap Cana, a 186-room hotel and a 60-room boutique called Juanillo Hills by Aston Cap Cana;
It’s a significant foray into the Dominican market for Archipelago, whose portfolio has typically focused in resort destinations in Cuba.
