The resort has a collection of overwater bungalows.

A towering volcano. Lush rainforests. Vibrant botanical gardens. Abundant produce.  The Caribbean’s strongest rum. The island of St Vincent has always been a beautiful corner of the Caribbean; but while its neighboring Grenadines have long been home to some terrific resorts, the “mainland” has never really had one at that level. Until now.

A little over seven years after St Vincent debuted its first-ever international airport, the island finally has the halo hotel it’s been looking for: the new Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the all-inclusive giant’s newest Caribbean retreat.

The new resort is Sandals’ 18th all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean, a 301-room-and-suite property set on 50 acres on the lush island at the far corner of the Eastern Caribbean.

“With its dramatic blues and incredible beauty, the Caribbean sea was meant to be explored. But at more than a million square miles, it was also meant to be discovered,” said Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of Sandals Resorts International, who was on hand for the grand opening this week. “There is a joy here that pulses throughout and beyond 32 incredible islands. Sandals Saint Vincent was designed to honor that spirit, encouraging carefree exploration, pampered relaxation, and deep connection.”

It’s not just the brand’s newest resort; it’s also the company’s latest overwater resort, with a collection of “Vincy Overwater Two-Story Villas” that are the first overwater rooms in the country.

That’s along with a collection of beachfront villas “just steps from the sand,” according to Sandals.

The resort is the 18th for the brand.

That’s along with a signature 300-foot linear pool, three other pools and a total of 11 different culinary concepts, including five new restaurants for Sandals, from a clay-pot-cooking eatery called Buccan to the company’s’ first-ever grab-and-go concept called Imoro.

There’s even a rum bar featuring a vinyl playlist with 32 different rums on offer.

The new hotel is now part of a small but exclusive collection of top resorts in the broader destination, led by the world-renowned Palm Island private-island retreat in the Grenadines.

It’s the first Sandals to open in the wider Caribbean since last year’s debut of its new all-inclusive at Dunn’s River in Jamaica.
