This Las Vegas Sushi Spot Just Expanded to Puerto Rico

By: Dana Niland - March 8, 2024

There’s a buzzing new sushi spot in the heart of San Juan’s Condado neighborhood: the new Tekka Bar at La Concha resort.

The “handroll and sake” bar has a mix of fresh seafood, copious sake offerings and a prime oceanfront setting.

“It’s with great excitement for us to welcome a new vibrant restaurant concept with the opening of Tekka Bar to further offer our guests the best experience in San Juan,” said Mike Rivera, general manager of La Concha Resort.

“As La Concha Resort celebrates its 65th anniversary, we’re thrilled to unveil just the beginning of our property-wide enhancements and we are eager to share additional announcements on the horizon as part of La Concha’s evolution,” he said.

It’s the second Tekka Bar in the world, and the first in the Caribbean — an offshoot of the Las Vegas sushi bar at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, the brainchild of restaurateur Takashi Segawa.

The menu has fresh handrails, sashimi and nigiri in an intimate 15-seat space.

The debut of Tekka Bar is part of a broader overhaul of the venerable Condado resort; that included joining Marriott’s autograph collection.
