Ultra-low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines is bringing back its nonstop flights between Orlando and St Maarten, in a big boost for the “Friendly Island.”

So when will Orlando service return?

Nonstop Orlando-St Maarten flights are pegged to restart on May 18, with once-weekly flights on Saturdays, St Maarten tourism officials confirmed.

That route will operate seasonally for the summer (if you travel to the Caribbean often, you know it’s far cooler and more comfortable than the summertime in Orlando), lasting through August. 10.

It’s part of a broader St Maarten push for Frontier, which is also kicking off its first-ever service between San Juan, Puerto Rico and St Maarten; that route will launch ?June 3, with flights on Mondays and Fridays running through Aug. 13.

That will open up Frontier’s broad network of flights from the US to San Juan to help travelers looking to connect to St Maarten.

“Frontier Airlines’ seasonal flights to St. Maarten have consistently boasted impressive passenger demand. We are delighted that they are making a return this year,” said Mey-Ling Chun, director of tourism for St Maarten.
