Longtime JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes is stepping down.

Robin Hayes, who has served as CEO of the New York City-based carrier since 2015, said he is retiring to “put more focus on my health and well-being.”

Hayes will be succeeded by current JetBlue President and COO Joanna Geraghty, effective Feb. 12, 2024.

Hayes will keep serving on JetBlue’s Board of Directors, subsequently serving as a strategic advisor to the airline over the next few months.

“It’s bittersweet to retire from this airline I love, but I will always feel a part of the JetBlue team and be rooting for its continued success. For nearly 35 years – both at British Airways and here at JetBlue – I’ve loved working in this industry,” Hayes said. “I am deeply grateful for these many exciting years and I feel very lucky to have worked at an airline with a brand, culture, and team that are simply unlike any other in the world.”

Hayes helped oversee a broad expansion push for the airline, particularly in the Caribbean market.
