This Cap Cana All-Inclusive Has a New Speakeasy
At the entrance, it looks like a butcher shop from the 1950s. Make it through to the back, and it’s something very different.
The Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana has debuted the brand’s first-ever speakeasy, the “Blind Butcher,” a multi-sensory experience that blends dining and live entertainment.
While it’s not the first all-inclusive speakeasy (that title goes to the Rabbit Hole, which opened at the Sandals Ochi Beach Resort back in 2015), it’s a significant new concept for what was already one of the top all-inclusives in Cap Cana.
The eatery-bar offers tableside entertainment, with “carefully curated lighting” and an intricately designed bar.
The food is focused on the cuisine of South America, with a four-course meal “full of surprises that you must see to believe,” as the resort puts it.
“The Blind Butcher is a testament to the relentless pursuit to consistently elevate the offerings and provide a unique and unparalleled experience to Playa’s guests,” says Fernando Mulet, executive Vice President and chief investment officer at Playa Hotels and Resorts. “Years ago, a hotelier might have feared a culinary-minded guest, but we welcome them and are prepared to please. Instead of an abundant but bland buffet, we understand the all-inclusive guest wants to try out new gourmet expressions.”
Notably, the Blind Butcher is open both to resort guests and outside guests.
