While Silver Airways has been steadily expanding its network in the Caribbean out of San Juan, Puerto Rico, it’s easy to forget that the carrier is actually based in South Florida.
For years, Silver has been operating a host of routes between Florida cities and destinations, mostly, in the Out Islands of The Bahamas.
Now, the company is set to add a brand-new destination: the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Beginning this month, Silver Airways will launch new nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale and Providenciales, Turks and Caicos.
That route will be operating twice each week, with service on Fridays and Mondays, according to the company. Flights will kick off on Dec. 18, Caribbean Journal confirmed.
It’s the second Caribbean destination the carrier is adding in two months, following its recent launch of flights between San Juan and Antigua.
Silver has a broad network of codeshare and interline partners, meaning if you can fly to Fort Lauderdale, you can connect easily to Silver’s flights.
“Whether you’re planning to indulge in a week of relaxation on the stunning beaches or immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Turks and Caicos, Silver is prepared to transport you on unforgettable journeys,” the airline said in a statement.
It’s another boost for Turks and Caicos, which continues to see its travel numbers boom and add new flights from important markets.
That includes last month’s launch of the first-ever Virgin Atlantic flights to Turks and Caicos, which launched out of London in early November.
