Avianca Is Launching New Nonstop Flights to Honduras

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - September 7, 2023

Avianca is launching new nonstop flights to the gateway of Honduras’ Caribbean coast: San Pedro Sula.

On Dec. 11, the Colombian carrier will be launching a new nonstop route between New York and San Pedro Sula, with flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

San Pedro Sula, set on the edge of the country’s Caribbean coast, is also an easy hub for a short flight to Roatan, another popular Caribbean destination in Honduras.

It’s part of a broader Caribbean expansion for Avianca that includes the restart of two other routes this summer.

Avianca is operating the route on Airbus A320 aircraft with seating for 180.

“Our new seasonal routes reaffirm our commitment to connecting loved ones and facilitating seamless journeys across continents,” the company said in a statement.
