The Caribbean’s Best Restaurant Is Hosting the Ultimate Rum Dinner

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - June 1, 2023

It’s the Caribbean outpost of the three-Michelin-star Die Librije in Holland, and the Brass Boer restaurant in Bonaire has quickly risen to become the best restaurant in the Caribbean.

Indeed, the Brass Boer (which also just opened a location in Curacao) has taken the top spot in the 50 Best Restaurant in the Caribbean for the last two years.

And now the eatery is hosting one of the biggest culinary events of the year: the final rum dinner and party at Bonaire Rum Week next month.

The $150 per person rum pairing and party will be held on Friday, June 16 at 7 PM at the Brass Boer, with a menu including crispy wonton with beetroot and Baharat; tomato with basil and a foam of matured cheese; locally-caught tuna fish with tomato, fennel and ginger; avocado with macadamia, Vadouvan and a Ponzu vinaigrette; corvina with Jerusalem artichoke, beurre blanc and smoked bacon; slow-cooked cheek of veal with sauerkraut, potato and Epoisse; and a chocolate dessert of mango, blue berries and a sabayon of tarragon.

The food will be paired with some of the top premium rums from across the Caribbean Basin: El Dorado, San Pablo, Diplomatico, Caney, Varadero, Papa’s Pilar, Ron Barcelo; Rom Rincon, Island Company, Siesta Key, Clifton Estate and more.

There’s no culinary event like it, the conclusion to a spectacular week of rum events across the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire.

It’s one of the must-visit culinary events on the Caribbean calendar this year.

There’s still space, too; to RSVP to the rum dinner contact reservations@brassboer.com
