Small Caribbean Hotel of the Week: A Beach Hideaway in Anguilla

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - April 18, 2023

You can scour the Caribbean without finding a beach nicer than Meads Bay in Anguilla, an island with one of the region’s most enviable collections of sand.

It’s a place that’s the essence of Anguilla: stunning natural scenery, great restaurants, hopping beach bars and outstanding places to stay.

We’re rather partial to one particular small resort on Meads Bay: Tranquility Beach, a residential resort that’s just about the perfect Anguilla retreat.

This 15-room luxury beach resort is all about experiencing Anguilla, with its spacious rooms perfect for staying in or jumping out and exploring the island, friendly service and a privileged perch on Meads Bay sand.

Where is it? Tranquility Beach is right in the heart of Meads Bay, in close proximity to wonderful eateries like Blanchards (and the Beach Shack), Jacala and Straw Hat, among others.

What to know? The newest resort on Meads Bay is a collection of sleek, modern rooms, with either one, two or three bedrooms, all with full kitchens, which can all be pre-stocked with villa essentials. Your stay also comes with bespoke concierge service, helping you to play every aspect of your vacation, from the right beach for the day to that hard-to-get dinner reservation.

Which room to choose? The three-bedroom penthouse villa is the ultimate Anguilla accommodation for families, replete with an outdoor hot tub on the balcony — or just a deliciously spacious getaway for a couple.

What do we like best? The concept. Villas are the biggest thing in travel, particularly in the Caribbean. Travelers want to the comforts of home with the luxury of a resort, and the opportunity to get out and experience the island — which can often mean sampling the market and staying in, too. Tranquility Beach is the best of both worlds: a beachfront resort with all of the luxury — and freedom — of your own private beach villa, all set in arguably the best location on the island.
