Another top Latin American carrier is adding flights to the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Azul, the largest airline in Brazil, is launching nonstop flights between Belo Horizonte and Curacao, with service set to begin June 24, 2023.

The new service will operate once weekly, with the flight fro Brazil on Saturdays, and the return flight from Curacao operating on Sundays.

It’s part of what the Curacao Tourist Board calls “growing demand from the Brazilian market.”

“The decision to stay active in the Brazilian market was surely a good decision,” said Ruisandro Cijntje, Curacao’s Minister of Economic Development. “We can say that this new direct flight will certainly produce a good result for the Brazilian market. Besides, this Azul flight will also provide more travel connections for our local people.”
