Marriott Opens New Riviera Cancun All-Inclusive Resort

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - December 24, 2022

Marriott has very quietly developed a broad portfolio of all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, including several in the sizzling destination of Cancun, Mexico.

That includes the 31st resort in Marriott’s all-inclusive collection: the new Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun.

The new resort, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, is a new-build property with 1,005 suites in a setting just north of the popular beach town of Puerto Morelos, about 35 minutes south of Cancun.

“We are elated to welcome Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort to our All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy portfolio that offers a stay fit for travelers of all ages,” said Brain King, President for Caribbean and Latin America, Marriott International. “Situated in one of Cancun’s appraised developing zones providing unlimited access to the gorgeous white sanded beach of the Mexican Caribbean, Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun allows us to showcase the richness of all-inclusive resorts and their value for an immersive travel experience.

The family-friendly resort is anchored by a large waterpark complex: that includes a pair of lazy rivers, a splash pad, and a total of 14 water slides and tube experiences.

That’s just the beginning of the property’s universe of amenities. There is everything from a four-lane bowling alley to a trampoline park to 12 different culinary destinations.

There’s also a laser tag arena, an. “Aqua Olympics” program, a fitness center and a kids club, among other inclusions.

The resort does include Royalton’s popular Diamond Club service, meaning personalized butler service, private pool access and other perks.

Every one of the 1,005 suites has a signature Royalton DreamBed, an in-room jacuzzi, a rain shower and either a terrace or balcony.

There is spa, too: the Royal Spa, a wellness destination with massages, hydrotherapy circuits and a sauna.

Event space at the new Marriott includes eight meeting rooms, including a 25,000-square-foot convention center.

Marriott has big ambitions in the Caribbean all-inclusive space, with much of the growth to this point coming as a result of a strategic alliance with Royalton’s parent company, Blue Diamond Resorts.

“The opening of Royalton Splash Rivera Cancun is the culmination of over a decade of expertise in the All-Inclusive industry by Blue Diamond Resorts, where every single detail has been planned to provide a truly inclusive experience for all types of travelers” said Jordi Pelfort, President, Hotels and Resorts of Blue Diamond’s parent company, Canada’s Sunwing Travel Group. “This energetic premium resort is a very strong addition to our portfolio. From now on, guests can enjoy a wide range of activities with All-In Luxury amenities, carefully planned so that our guests have the best experience during their vacations.”
