Air Transat is relaunching its Havana service for the upcoming winter tourist season, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The Canadian carrier is set to restart flights between Montreal and Havana on Dec. 19.

The service will be operating three times each week, according to the company.

“Many Canadians are finally ready to take the trip they have been dreaming of over the past two years,” said Michèle Barre, Air Transat’s Vice President of Network, Revenue Management and Pricing. “With the return of direct flights to Havana, we are proposing even more possibilities to explore sunny destinations. We are proud to offer our passengers a diverse flight network on four continents to not only meet, but continually exceed their expectations.”

The company said it was “markedly consolidating” its presence in the Cuban market, which continues to remain popular among Canadian travelers.
