The world’s largest cruise ship is making its first call in St Maarten.

Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas ship will be calling on St Maarten on March 21, according to Port St Maarten officials.

It’s the fifth Oasis-vessel by Royal Caribbean, and a major sign of Port St Maarten’s post-Covid renaissance.

Oasis of the Seas launched its first Caribbean sailing earlier this month.

“We have an edge over many destinations, but they are catching up and we are in the process of extending our edge through experiences and berth accommodations,” said Alexander Gumbs, CEO of Port St Maarten Group.

The 1,188-foot-long, $1.35 billion ship has a capacity of more than 6,000 guests at double occupancy.
