A New Oceanfront Spa Is Coming to Dominica

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - February 25, 2022

Dominica’s historic Fort Young hotel is planning to open a major new spa for the island.

It’s called the Zemi Spa and Compass Gym, and it’s a new oceanfront wellness destination in the heart of downtown Roseau.

The new spa will include two private treatment rooms along with two manicure and pedicure stations.

Treatments will range from Volcanic Rock massages to Swedish and deep tissue massages, all using locally inspired products.

“For those who want it, Dominica is full of adventure and physical activities like hiking and diving, so being able to give guests the opportunity for respite and relaxation in a serene setting is important to our offering,” said Dinesh Kissoon, Fort Young Hotel’s general manager. “The Zemi Spa offers numerous wellness treatments from restorative massages and detoxifying body scrubs to rejuvenating foot treatments and luxurious nail services. And, we’ve incorporated locally-sourced products like lemongrass, ginger and botanical extracts to bring nature into the experience.”

It’s part of a broader expansion and enhancement project for the Fort Young, one that includes the imminent addition of 40 new oceanfront rooms and suites, among other changes.
