Puerto Rico Set for PGA Tour Event

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - February 24, 2022

Puerto Rico is set for the return of the PGA Tour’s Puerto Rico Open next week.

The 14th edition of the event is set for April 20-24 at the Championship Course at the Grand Reserve Golf Club.

The Tom Kite-designed course is set in Rio Grande, east of San Juan. It’s part of a 36-hole complex.

The event is set for the end of March, with the full slate of events from Feb. 28 to March 6.

That will be followed by the US Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship on April 20-24.

This year’s Puerto Rico open will include a field featuring stars like Bryson DeChambeau, Viktor Hovland, Jordan Spieth, Daniel Berger, Jason Day and Tony Finau, among others.

“The PGA TOUR is home to the world’s greatest players, and Puerto Rico is a wonderful setting for them to showcase their talents while basking in our Island’s welcoming culture and sun-kissed weather,” said Brad Dean, CEO, Discover Puerto Rico.

The event is one of three Caribbean events on the PGA Tour schedule, along with stops at Mayakoba and Punta Cana.
