SLS Cancun Names New Managing Director

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - February 23, 2022

The SLS Cancun hotel has named a new managing director, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The residential resort at the Puerto Cancun development has tapped Julian Smaldoni to the role, in which he will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of day-to-day operations at the property.

“We are excited to welcome Julián Smaldoni to SLS Cancun and have him join the SLS family,” said Chadi Farhat, brand operating officer of SLS, in a statement. “SLS Cancun is a remarkable property that will thrive under Julian’s leadership.”

The 45-suite hotel, designed by Piero Lissoni, has a master-planned community focused on “recreation and restoration.”

It’s also home to a pair of dining concepts: the Argentinian fusion eatery Leynia and the Bungalow Beach Bar and Grill.

Smaldoni served most recently as managing director of The Fives Downtown Curio Collection by Hilton in Playa del Carmen.
