Bermuda Adding Booster Requirement for Most Travelers

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - February 9, 2022

Bermuda will soon be requiring booster shots for travelers who received their second vaccine dose more than six months ago.

The island is requiring “up-to-date vaccination status,” meaning travelers who received their second vaccine dose more than six months ago must have also received a third dose before heading to the island.

The island is also requiring proof of a negative test within two days before arriving in Bermuda.

The new rules will take effect March 7, impacting the vast majority of travelers who were vaccinated in the first and second quarter of 2021.

“We welcome visitors from around the world with travel guidelines that ensure their safety as well as their convenience, and our updated protocols will make visiting Bermuda even easier,” said Charles H. Jeffers II, Bermuda Tourism Authority CEO. “Our hotels and local businesses are open with the Bermudian hospitality for which we are known. There’s never been a better time to visit.”

No islands in the broader Atlantic-Caribbean region are requiring boosters for travel, although designations including Aruba and St Maarten are now waiving testing requirements for those with the booster.
